For my year 12 media game, I have decided to go with an educational
/children's game. The aim of the game is to spot the dangers around the house; there will be 5 levels, each level a different room in the house. Study, kitchen, lounge room, bedroom and bathroom The point of the game is to raise awareness of the dangers in the house and around you and how easy it is to be safe, and prevent injuries when at home.
When you click to play the game, a set of instructions will appear, the gamer will be given an option to skip the instructions. Each level will have set times to find the dangers; the gamer will be given three lives. When you click on the correct item, extra time will be added on and awarded 10 points. When clicking the wrong item, time will decrease and will lose 3 points and lose a life. When the set time is all out, or the gamer completed all the levels, or the gamer have lost all 3 lives, the game will end. When the game has ended, the results of the game will be shown, and it will tell you if you did an excellent job or you
did a poor job and need to try again. If the gamer has lost all the set time, he/she will be given an option to play again, play same level or show results. During the game if the gamer can not see a dangerous object, a hint button will be present. If the hint button is used, time will not be deducted or added, no awarded or lose.
